Bodies That Stayed

An ongoing photographic project

A photographic exploration of presence, lived experience and the quiet strength carried in the body over time.

Bodies That Stayed is an ongoing photographic project exploring how life experiences shape the body and the way we inhabit space.

Through slower, relational portrait sessions, I work with presence, light and attention as central elements. The aim is not to dramatize vulnerability, but to create images that hold dignity and lived experience.

I do not stand outside the themes I explore. I, too, live in a body shaped by history, faith, doubt and change. This work grows from that shared condition — from listening, reflecting and allowing myself to be affected.

The project moves between personal narrative and shared human experience, gradually developing toward exhibition, writing and workshop formats.

These sessions are unhurried.
Nothing is forced — everything unfolds in its own time.

Strength and softness are not opposites.
They often live in the same body.

Trauma-aware does not mean sorrow.
It means consent, pacing and the freedom to stay or to pause.

Different lives. Different histories.
No single narrative defines the body.

Joy, grief, doubt, stillness —
all of it belongs here.

The body remembers quietly.
This work listens.

Not one kind of body.
Not one kind of past.
Time leaves traces.
So does love.
