I’m Katrine
— a storytelling photographer based in the fields and forests of Innlandet, Norway, documenting stories across Norway, Scotland, and wherever the story takes me. I previously lived in Scotland, and the landscapes, weather, and atmosphere there continue to shape both my work and the way I see the world. While Norway is home, I’m always open to travelling wherever a story feels meaningful.
My work is shaped by natural light, shifting weather, and the connection between people and the places around them. I’m drawn to quiet moments, movement, texture, emotion, and the atmosphere that makes an image feel honest and alive. Whether it’s wind moving through the Highlands or soft evening light in the Norwegian woods, I’ve always been fascinated by the feeling a landscape can hold.
Growing up surrounded by forests, open fields, and long Nordic seasons taught me early how to notice light — how fog softens a scene, how weather changes emotion, and how the most meaningful moments often happen in between the planned ones. That way of seeing still shapes the way I photograph today. I’m less interested in perfection and more interested in presence, connection, and stories that feel deeply human.
Alongside photography, I work at NTNU and have a background in interdisciplinary cultural and religious studies. History, folklore, identity, and the emotional connection between people and place continue to influence both my photography and personal work. I’m drawn to old landscapes, quiet stories, and imagery that feels timeless, atmospheric, and rooted in something real.
Creating a safe and honest space in front of the camera is deeply important to me. I know that many people arrive at a photoshoot carrying insecurities, uncertainty, or the feeling that they need to “perform” for the camera. My approach is gentle, collaborative, and grounded in trust — allowing space for people to simply exist as themselves. The most meaningful images rarely come from perfection, but from presence, vulnerability, and genuine connection.
Whether I’m documenting an intimate elopement on the Isle of Skye, creating atmospheric portraits, or photographing quiet family moments close to home, my approach is always rooted in care, trust, and genuine emotion.
